About

I Care. Let's Talk!

Hello and Welcome! Clinical Social Worker currently licensed in Texas, Iowa and Colorado. I received a Master of Science in Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2014. My undergraduate degree is in Applied Gerontology. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where I have lived the majority of my life. I have four adult children. One daughter, a son and twin boys. It has been adventurous! My professional experience includes nursing home administration where I worked compassionately and diligently with the elderly and their families to provide quality of life to those who were institutionalized. I changed careers to social work where I could make a bigger impact working directly with those in need. During my graduate internship at UTSW Zale Lipshy Inpatient Psychiatric Unit in Dallas, Texas I discovered my passion working with individuals struggling with the day-to-day challenges of their mental health and life’s obstacles. I engaged with them on treatment planning, individual and group therapy, education as well as case management. After graduation I worked full time on the unit until 2017 when I transferred to UTSW William P. Clements University Hospital Emergency Department working with adults from age 18+ mostly with those needing/requesting mental health treatment. I left my position at UTSW in 2022 to begin my private practice and help those struggling remain in the community and not become hospitalized. I have engaged clients in Cognitive behavioral Therapy, Reminiscent Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy as well as Motivational Interviewing. Working to manage depression, anxiety, addiction, substance use/abuse, grief and/or suicidal ideation is my calling as I easily connect with others. I have motivated individuals, couples and families to engage in change. My goal and mission is to challenge and encourage individuals to see themselves and their situations through a different lens. Together we can make that happen! I have an extensive "toolbox" and encourage clients to build their own. I am genuine and that will be evident the first time we meet. Allow me to help put 'life' back into living. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help. Please call the number noted below or click the 'contact' below and/or send an email letting me know you are interested in therapy and I will reach out to you. If therapy is not in your budget, I can provide services on a sliding scale. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Without questions there is no clarity. It doesn't matter how you get here. Just get here! :-)
